MISSION
Our mission is to drive a new era of development, growth and productivity through enabling women and girls access to education, create an enabling environment for them to start their own businesses or establish cooperatives and provide them opportunities to fully participate in entrepreneurship programmes, entrepreneurial activities and economic development projects.
PLANNING AND PREPARATION AND/OR ULUMA6 AFRICAH STRATEGY
We work with (1) An individual: A woman influencing other women in her family i.e. grandmother, mother(s), sisters(s); (2) Women / Sisters / Mothers: Influencing their own families, households, relatives; (3) A group of women within the household: Influencing other women in the neighbourhoods; (4) Women in the neighbourhoods: Influencing others in the community / village / area; (5) Women in the village or area: Influencing women who will influence their families in a ward; (6) Women in the ward: Influencing other women and their families in other wards in the Local Municipality; (7) Women in the Local Municipality influencing others in other Local Municipalities and (8) Women with their Local Municipalities promoting synergy; cooperation; coordination; collaboration and service delivery. Individually and family-rooted change will enable ULUMA6 AFRICAH to deal with many of the issues the organisation seek to address which are entrenched within existing systems: Religion, Culture and Politics and also unjust structures within their own families and communities. ULUMA Satellite Offices are within family homes of women and families that have proved to be solutions providers and change drivers or makers with their minimal resources. They have proved their ability to tackle complex systems and deal with gatekeeping, abuse and oppression by these systems (Religion, Culture and Politics) existing within their families and communities. We seek to amplify their work or services, not to in the forefront, and we help them achieve their goals concerning their families, households and communities.
AIM
Our main aim is to advocate and engage traditional and religious institutions, Civil Society Organisations (CBOs, NGOs, NPOs, FBOs and NPCs), organs of state – Government departments and municipalities, the private sector, financial institutions, development financial institutions (DFIs), commodity organisations, institutions of higher learning and other stakeholders on behalf of vulnerable, poor, abused, oppressed and persecuted women and girls in rural communities of the Zululand, UMzinyathi, UMkhanyakude and King Cetshwayo Districts.
OBJECTIVES
